Approaching the end of the six-month skills training courses, the learners of the above courses were honored in a ceremony
The ceremony was attended and held by Prof. Mohammad Esmaeil Akbari, Head of the Cancer Research Center, Dr. Mehran Ghahremani, respectful Secretary of the Iranian Scientific Pathology Association, Dr. Hanieh Jam, Scientific Manager of the First Surgical Pathology (Cancer) of Iran, Dr. Farahnaz Bidari, Member of the Board of the Iranian Scientific Pathology Association and the head of the pathology department of Loghman Hakim Hospital, trainees and pathology assistants.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Prof. Akbari spoke about the importance of postgraduate courses and the mission of learners in supporting their expert colleagues, participating in applied research, and upgrading the health system. Then, Dr. Ghahremani, Secretary of the Iranian Scientific Pathology Association, while pointing to some of the past and future challenges of the pathology of Iran, emphasized on the support of the Association in the development of postgraduate training courses of education and skills. Then, Dr. Jam, the scientific manager of the First Surgical Onco-Pathology of Iran, expressed her positive evaluation of the role of skill training courses in improving the ability of pathologists. Then, Dr. Bidari, while supporting the need to launch and continue these courses, described the collection of local educational resources in referral treatment centers as a valuable step. Furthermore, Dr. Afshin Moradi, the scientific manager of the gastrointestinal pathology training courses, presented a report to the audience, on the history of the approval of the curriculum and implementation of the courses. He praised the efforts of the professors of pathology departments of Taleghani, Mofid, and Shohada hospitals for holding the gastrointestinal course, Dr. Jam and Dr. Ahadi at Shohada Hospital for holding the breast pathology course, Dr. Rakhshan and Dr. Ahadi at Mofid Hospital and Dr. Kazemi Aghdam for holding the sergical oncopathology course, Dr. Moradi and other colleagues in the Cancer Research Center, especially Dr. Atieh Akbari for their excellent cooperation, and the radiology and radiotherapy departments of the Shohada-ye-Tajrish Center.
The trainees then stated their experiences, positive feedback and suggestions about the courses. At the end of the session, a plaque of appreciation was presented to each student.
